Ensure the furlough functionality is turned on for your organisation (please contact our help desk firstname.lastname@example.org if you are not sure.
For the report to be accurate employees should be marked as Furloughed within the Employment section of the employee’s profile.
Plan your rota as you would normally, adding the hours the employee is working.
For furloughed employees, for days where there are no shifts the employee is automatically put on furlough. The hours the employee works are put through at the employee’s current rate.
The cost on the rota is the cost of that employee’s working hours plus their total holiday accrual; this excludes NI costs as this is currently claimable through CJRS.
If the employee does not work over their furlough amount, then their remaining hours will be claimable under CJRS.
If the team are taking holiday whilst on furlough, as per the CJRS rules, the company is required to top them up to their full pay rate. Your system will work out what is claimable and what is not. The job of the rota writer is to make sure all shifts worked and all holiday is recorded accurately.
Account Exports :
- Accounts Export (Excel) Furlough This is a single site report
- Accounts Export - All Sites Report (Furlough) This is a multi-site report
We have tried to make the complex simple by giving you more access to information.
You can now clearly see both the hours and wage cost of employees as a breakdown and also how your system is calculating everything for you.
To gain your Furlough Averages for each employee you will now run a separate report called Furlough Breakdown Report. shows the reference salary and hours for each employee for each week. - See more about this here

The most important thing to remember when using the Flexi and Training furlough functions within S4labour is to schedule the employee correctly for the hours they are working/ training; this ensures the breakdown within the export is correct, and also the holiday accrual calculations.
We have kept this as simple as possible for the rota writers. The rota page calculates the cost of that employee to the business; the breakdown will then provide all the information on what to pay the employee and how much you can claim from the government.
