Overview
A new safeguard has been introduced to help managers identify potentially excessive shift lengths before approving them.
When entering a shift that exceeds 13 hours, the system displays a warning prompting users to review the entry.
Where It Appears
This feature is available in the Rota Page.
Important Rules
- Only shifts longer than 13 hours trigger the warning
- A shift of exactly 13 hours will not trigger the popup
- The warning is informational only and does not block approval
- Actions apply to each selected shift individually that exceeds 13 hours.
- To bypass the warning, close the popup using the “X”
Tips & Best Practice
- Always review long shifts carefully to ensure compliance with company policies
- Use the warning as a checkpoint rather than relying on manual checks
- If needed, adjust the shift before confirming
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I approve long shifts despite the warning?
Yes, the warning is informational only. You can still confirm the shifts.
Why don’t 13-hour shifts trigger the warning?
