Adding, or creating, a new user in S4labour can only be completed by a level 5 user, also known as a 'Superuser'.
Click on the 'spanner' icon and navigate to 'Create new users.'
This will open a form to enter a new user's details:
1. It is important to get your user's email address correct, without it they can't receive their activation email and won't be able to access s4labour.
Users can login using their email as their username, but if they already have an email assigned to an employee profile, they cannot use that email address as a username.
Best Practice: Always set a new user up with a username instead, typically FirstnameSurname.
2. Assign an appropriate user level to assign the level of access to S4labour that your new user will require. See our guide to access levels for more information.
3. Assign the site(s) that your new user will require access to. Level 4+5 users can be allocated multiple sites, level 3 + 2 will only have access to one.
4. If your new user already has an employee profile you can link this to their newly created User profile. This means that only one login is required, they will be able to switch between their user and employee profiles without logging out and in.
When their profiles are linked, they can switch between them by accessing the HR tab and clicking 'Switch to Employee Profile'.
Click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page to confirm the user's details and create their account. This will trigger an email invite for the user to set a password and access their account.
