Managers with access to Shift4Grabs can post vacant shifts for employees to grab on their rota page
Employees can nominate themselves to work shifts that are vacant – ‘Up for grabs’ – and can also offer one of their own shifts to put it ‘Up for grabs’, both on S4 Connect app (employee app).
Managers retain control of this process while employees can manage the admin.
This is a largely app-based tool that improves the flexibility of teams.
Key points:
- Employees can only see vacant shifts at their site.
- Employees can only see vacant shifts for their position.
- Rotas must be published for vacant shifts to be visible to employees.
- Employees remain responsible for shifts assigned to them, even after offering it up for grabs.
- Ownership of the shift will only change after another employee has attempted to grab the shift and a manager has approved the change.
- Managers review and approve which employee will pick up a shift.
- Rota changes will not occur until a manager has confirmed a change.
Process:
Users ‘Add Vacant Shift’ on the rota.
Users click to ‘Publish Rota’ to share shifts and available hours with employees.
