How does an employee 'grab (or pick up) a shift?
Employees log in to the S4Connect App and navigate to the rota section.
The ‘Shift 4 Grabs’ button will show the number of shifts available to this employee for the weeks that have been published.
Tapping ‘Grab a Shift’ allows employees to see further details of vacant shifts.
Each day will have the number of available shifts shown.
Tapping on a day will allow employees to see the specific shifts. Tapping on a shift will allow the employee to ‘Grab it’ – putting their name forward for the manager to review.
Employees can offer to grab multiple shifts on the same day, but cannot be approved to work overlapping shifts.
Employees will only see shifts on days that do not overlap with a shift they already hold.
Employees will only be able to see shifts that correspond to a position they currently hold on their pay setup. If the employee has multiple roles, they can see available shifts that correspond to any of their active roles:
Employee nominates themselves to pick up a vacant shift.
This shift will remain vacant and available to all employees with the same job role
