What is mobile time and attendance/mobile TAPS?
Mobile time and attendance gives employees the ability to tap in and tap out for their shifts via the S4 Connect App.
How do I clock in/out on my mobile?
- Navigate to the the S4 Connect Home page.
- Press "Tap In/Out" to open up the T&A pop-up.
- Press the Tap In or Tap Out button within the pop-up to successfully clock in/out.
- The time you clocked in will then be presented to your manager to sign off and confirm.
If your site has a weak Wi-Fi or Mobile Network signal, your business may benefit from using our Tablet TAPS (Big TAPS) App instead. Find out more about this option by contacting your Account Manager.
To successfully clock in and out, please ensure that the following is actioned -
N.B. If the below is not actioned you will not be able to clock in/out (TAP in/out) as an employee:
- Stable internet connection (Wi‑Fi or mobile data)., you will require signal for you to be able to log in successfully.
- Phone location services are activated.
- S4 Connect has access to the location services. To check this please go to Settings --> App Settings and select S4 Connect and then ensure that access to location is given at all times.
- Power Save/Battery Saver mode is turned off. This prevents the phone from getting an up-to-date location when trying to log in.
If you are trying to TAP in/out and are on site however the system does not recognise as you being on site:
- Open Google Maps: Launch the Google Maps application on your device.
- Check Your Location: Verify the location shown on Google Maps to ensure it accurately reflects your current on-site position. If the location is not accurate, consider refreshing the app or allowing a few moments for it to update.
- Ensure On-Site Status: Confirm that Google Maps indicates you are at the designated on-site location. This confirmation ensures alignment between your physical presence and the location registered by the phone.
- Attempt Access: Once you've confirmed your on-site status on Google Maps, reattempt to tap in again within S4 Connect.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I forgot to Tap In/Out, what do I do?
A: Please tell your shift manager the time you left, they will be able to manually record your leaving time in the system
Q: I cannot see the button on my S4 Connect home page, what do I do?
A: It is likely that this is because your organisation does not use S4 Connect for time and attendance, please confirm whether this is the case with your manager. If your organisation does, please ensure you have the latest version of the S4 Connect app by updating at the App/Play Store and if the issue persists, contact S4 Support using the details below.
