Half-Day Sick Absence

The Half-Day Sick feature allows managers to record sickness for only part of a day directly on the web platform. This mirrors the existing functionality in the Manage app, ensuring consistency across both platforms.

This enhancement provides more accurate absence tracking and reporting, particularly for employees who are only absent for part of a shift.

Where to Find It

You can record a half-day sick absence from:

• Absence Calendar

   How It Works

2. Navigate to the rota or absence widget
3. Select the employee and date
4. Select the Half-Day Sick option
5. Save the absence
6. Specify a reason for this sickness
7. Submit

Once recorded:

• The absence appears on the rota as a partially filled entry, showing a half-day indicator alongside the relevant shift hours.
• It is displayed similarly to full-day sickness for consistency; however, the label within the entry clearly shows “½ Sick (Unpaid)” when viewed or selected.

1. In the S4 Manage app, the half-day sickness is displayed as a separate line within the shift view, labelled “½ S”, alongside the employee’s scheduled shift times for that day.

• Existing full-day sick logging remains unchanged
